The middle hitter, in her third year as a volleyball player, is a captain during the inaugural volleyball season for Math and Science Academy. The team went 6-0 in the Twin Cities Independent Schools Conference and 11-2 overall in the regular season.

Q: What has it been like?

A: I really like being able to say that this is our first year, and we got first in our conference because that’s something that a lot of schools probably can’t say.

Q: What has gone well for your team this year?

A: Instantly we can just talk to each other like we’ve known each other for a while. That communication helps. We can trust each other when we play on the court.

Q: Any specific goals coming into this season?

A: I really wanted to get better as a player and, since it is a team event, I wanted to be able to get to know the team really well. I think that goal has been met.

Q: How cool is it to be part of this first volleyball season?

A: I am really proud to be a part of this team. It’s something I really enjoy. And even if we lose, we’ll always be there to support one another.
