East Ridge is riding a three-game winning streak, including a 2-1 victory over Suburban East Conference and Class 3A, Section 3 rival Cretin-Derham Hall at the Lakeville North Tournament on Oct. 10. That victory could bode well for the Raptors as they take on the Raiders in our Top Game of the Week.
Junior right side hitter/setter Allie Barber (212 kills) has been a force for East Ridge (21-4, 5-1) this season, aided by the distribution skills of junior setter Leah Witzel (479 assists).
Cretin-Derham Hall (15-6, 4-2) relies on its outside hitters for scoring, with senior Chloe Dousette (152 kills) and junior Brynn Carlson (128 kills) delivering for the Raiders.
East Ridge enters the week in position to secure one of the section's top 3 seeds, but could drop out of the running with a loss to Cretin-Derham Hall.
The Raiders, meanwhile, could improve their chances to receive a higher section seed with a win over the Raptors.
