Jordan, ranked No. 8 in the Class 2A coaches’ poll, is red-hot after winning 10 of its last 12 matches. That successful run that is a far cry from the start of the season, when the Jaguars went 1-4 in their first five matches.
It's momentum Jordan (13-7, 4-1) could use to avenge a loss to Belle Plaine last year in the Class 2A, Section 2 semifinals that ended the Jaguars' season.
The No. 1-ranked Tigers (13-1, 6-0) is also firing on all cylinders. Belle Plaine has lost just one set in their last eight matches and have already beaten Jordan in straight sets on Sept. 10.
The Jaguars and the Tigers have traded section titles in the past, and this season could result in more of the same as both prepare for a possible showdown in the playoffs, making their regular-season matchup one to watch and our Top Game of the Week.
