Lakeville South Cougars started their season off strong with a win at Hutchinson on Tuesday night by a score of 3-1.  While playing in a hot gym with no air conditioning, the Cougars welcomed back an almost identical roster from last year, along with the addition of freshmen Halle Johnston and Jenny Mosser.

Johnston and Mosser proved they could play with the older members of the team with Johnston collecting a total of 10 digs playing libero and Mosser scoring multiple kills throughout the night.

South has three senior captains, Maddie Johnston, Sammy Kremer, and Ashley Pratt.  Each clearly showed their leadership on the court throughout the match.

Maddie Johnston continued to show her strength as a setter and was the most consistent server of the night with a total of 18 serves.  Kremer showed her strength in games 3 and 4 as a dominant and vital outside hitter.

The Cougars will be playing at Chaska this Thursday.  Hutchinson next game is Tuesday, September 3rd when they host Mankato East.
