Even its Hall of Fame coach, Dan Westby, cannot explain why Marshall seems so comfortable in a state tournament setting.
“It’s something I can’t put my finger on, but there’s something about this program where the players just find a way to get it done,” Westby said.
The No. 1-seeded Tigers (28-4), making their 11th consecutive state tournament trip and 23rd overall, got it done with ease, beating Esko (26-5) in three sets.
