We task our reporters with identifying several intriguing games throughout the state to assemble our Top Games of the Week. The matchups are presented in no particular order, and when there are additional games we want to highlight, we’ll include them with brief notes.

Other games to keep an eye on

Lakeville North vs. Lakeville South, 7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 11. It’s always a big deal — the “Civil War Game” — when these schools meet in any sport, but the atmosphere will be especially charged for this showdown considering No. 4-3A Lakeville North (6-2, 6-2) and No. 5-3A Lakeville South (6-2, 6-2) both trail No. 2-3A Eagan by just a game in the South Suburban Conference standings. The Panthers beat the Cougars 3-1 on Oct. 15 behind 13 kills and 26 digs from senior Maddy Hornyak

Marshall vs. Redwood Valley, 7:15 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 10. No. 2-2A Marshall (5-0, 4-0) has swept all of its opponents behind the play of standout senior Jordyn Hilgemann, a Northern State University women’s basketball commit. Redwood Valley (5-1, 5-1) is powered by a multisport star of its own in senior outside hitter Sydney Sommers.
