LPGE easily defeats Royalton

On Thursday, Sept. 15, the Thunder hosted Royalton for their second conference match of the week. The girls came out hot and never cooled down. They were able to control the tempo from start to finish, easily defeating Royalton 3-0 (25-5, 25-10, 25-11).

“It was nice to see that we had no let down from Tuesday night’s win,” head coach Brad Hollenhorst said. “We came out focused and did what we needed to do.”

The Thunder’s great serving carried over from the Tuesday game against WCA. The girls ended with 23 ace serves in the match.

“It’s nice to see how much more things are becoming,” Hollenhorst said. “We’ve cut the errors down significantly and have really passed well avoiding teams getting momentum or big runs.

The girls sit at 3-0 in the conference, but know Osakis, WCA, and Royalton will be tougher the second time around. This means they cannot let up, they need to keep working hard in practice to continually improve.

The Thunder girls have more conference opponents in the coming weeks, facing Swanville, Eagle Valley, and Upsala.
