Falcons edge Worthington in 5 sets

Trailing 2-1 after the first three games Tuesday night, the visiting Red Rock Central Falcons steamrolled to leads of 8-0 and 13-2 in Game 4 and rallied to win a five-set thriller over Worthington in non-conference high school volleyball action.

WORTHINGTON — Trailing 2-1 after the first three games Tuesday night, the visiting Red Rock Central Falcons steamrolled to leads of 8-0 and 13-2 in Game 4 and rallied to win a five-set thriller over Worthington in non-conference high school volleyball action.

The Trojans won close battles in both the first and third games, but RRC was able to open sizeable leads in both Games 2 and 4 and then scored seven of the last eight points in the decisive fifth set to claim the match victory.

Game scores were 24-26, 25-18, 22-25, 25-13 and 15-9 in favor of the Falcons, who improved to 4-1 overall on the new season.
