The Browerville Tigers volleyball team traveled to Upsala last Thursday night for their conference opener. The Tigers had their hands full against a well rounded Upsala team. Despite defending the Upsala attackers fairly well throughout the night, the Tigers eventually fell 3-0 (12-25, 15-25, 20-25).

“Upsala has a nice squad that runs a smooth, quick offense,” head coach Mary Irsfeld said. “Our blockers were late which opened more holes in our defense.” Some changes in the offense allowed the Tigers to have successful attacks, but the Upsala hitters found the holes in the defense which allowed them to take the match.

Brianna Ludwig finished with 10 kills, 13 digs, and eight blocks. Makenna Hegseth contributed 12 digs while Katelyn Middendorf led the team with nine set assists.
