If there were strong winds around Red Wing High School Thursday night it might have come from the collective exhale of those watching the Wingers volleyball team defeat Farmington.

Red Wing got its first five-set victory of the season with a dramatic come-from-behind 22-25, 21-25, 25-18, 25-12, 16-14 win over the Tigers that included the Wingers fighting off five match points.

“We didn’t come to play the first two games,” Red Wing head coach Neal Newman said.

Maybe they were just fed up with five-set matches.
