OKABENA — High school volleyball fans were treated to a real crowd-pleaser Tuesday night, as Southwest Star Concept hosted Worthington in a non-conference match and battled through periods of less than stellar play to emerge victorious, 3-2, going to extra points to win the decisive fifth game, 17-15.
The Quasars (1-1) also won Games 1 and Game 4, while the Trojans (1-2) looked good in winning Games 2 and 3. Game scores were 25-22, 18-25, 22-25, 25-16 and 17-15. “We came out strong and finished well,” summed up SSC head coach after the long match. “We have three very experienced kids and lots of players who yet lack varsity experience.”
