Athletes are considered for the weekly top performer poll only if their stats are entered on the MN Volleyball Hub by 10 a.m. on Sundays. If coaches or members of their staffs need access to enter stats, please email mnhubs@sportngin.com.

Top performer winner

Izzy Ashburn, Champlin Park. Champlin Park is undefeated through the first half of its regular season schedule, and Ashburn is a big reason why. Her 291 assists are second-most in the state, and the senior has registered more than 20 in all nine matches this season — a credit both to the Rebels’ hitters and Ashburn’s setting. In a 2-0 win over No. 3-2A Kasson-Mantorville on Sept. 8, Ashburn notched 23 assists. She added four kills and another 25 assists in a 2-0 win over No. 3-3A Lakeville South later that day.

Top performer candidates

Erin Shoemaker, Minnetonka. The senior recorded 91 kills in six matches last week — helping lead Minnetonka to five wins, including victories over Eagan, ranked No. 4 in Class 3A coaches’ poll from Sept. 9, and No. 10-3A Forest Lake. In the Skippers’  win over Eden Prairie in their Lake Conference match on Sept. 4, Shoemaker finished a season-high 22 kills, and she followed that with a 15-dig, 19-kill performance in a 3-1 win at Edina. Shoemaker’s 176 kills are the most in the state.

Sophia Andersen, New Prague. The junior boasts the third-most kills in the state, and some big ones came in a 3-1 win over No. 6-3A Shakopee — the team that ended New Prague’s season at last year's the Class 3A, Section 2 tournament. The junior outside hitter notched 20 kills, two aces, 12 digs, 10 service receptions and two block assists in the win. In a close 2-1 loss to Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa on Sept. 8, Andersen recorded team-highs in digs (13) and kills (14).

Emily Holliday, Minneapolis Roosevelt. With 25 service aces through just four matches, Holliday has helped lead Minneapolis Roosevelt to a 3-1 start to the season — demoralizing opponents in the process. She recorded a season-high nine aces on Sept. 4, when the Teddies defeated Calvin Christian 3-1. Holliday also added seven kills, seven digs and 18 assists in the win.

Abby Stark, Willmar. The sophomore libero has made an early impact for the Cardinals, having registered 138 digs in nine matches — good for third in the state. Stark was terrific last week in back-to-back wins over Alexandria (3-1 on Sept. 4) and St. Cloud Tech (3-1 on Sept. 6). She recorded 25 digs, three aces and 25 service receptions in the first match, then followed with a 20-dig, five-ace, 24-service reception performance two days later.
