Prior Lake libero CC McGraw was named 2017 Ms. Baden at a banquet on Nov. 8. The honor is awarded to the state's top senior player and finalists are determined by a selection committee commissioned by the Minnesota Volleyball Coaches Association.

McGraw was named to the All-USA Preseason Volleyball first team and is considered the best defender in this year's senior class, according to PrepVolleyball.com's John Tawa, who selected the squad. She is a three-time all-state first team honoree and earned a spot on the Star Tribune All-Metro First Team for the second consecutive season.

The Lakers posted an 18-10 regular-season record powered by the play of McGraw, who amassed a team-high 248 digs despite missing some early season matches due to an ankle injury. The Minnesota commit was second on the team with 245 sets and finished with 27 aces.

In the Class 3A, Section 2 playoffs, McGraw had 64 digs to help Prior Lake win three matches -- including a 18-25, 25-19, 25-21, 26-28, 15-8 victory over Eden Prairie in the title game -- and secure a third consecutive state tournament bid.

The fifth-seeded Lakers reached the Class 3A semifinals, where they were swept by top-seeded Eagan. McGraw posted a combined 36 digs in the two matches. Prior Lake faces Moorhead in the third-place match on Nov. 11.

The other finalists were: Kayla Bair, Prior Lake; McKenna Melville, Eagan; Linsey Rachel, Maple Lake; and Abbey Pederson, Canby.
