Lakeville South is gearing up for the meat of its schedule in the ultracompetitive South Suburban Conference, which features four teams ranked in the top 10 of the Class 3A coaches’ poll.
The No. 4 Cougars are 2-0 following wins over No. 9-2A Wayzata and Tartan. Junior outside hitter and UCLA commit Jenny Mosser led the way with 31 kills and 20 digs. The 5-foot-11 Mosser and 5-10 junior libero/outside hitter Halle Johnston (committed to Iowa) give Lakeville South a dominant duo on the floor.
No. 10 Eden Prairie (4-0) has a substantial amount of experience on its roster, with just one underclassman and six seniors. The Eagles scored a significant victory over No. 6-2A Hill-Murray in the Eden Prairie Tournament on Sept. 5, downing the talented Pioneers 25-21, 25-23 for the win.
