Two-time All-Metro selection exploring other options

Eagan volleyball setter Taylr McNeil, a two-time All-Metro selection, has backed away from a commitment to the University of Minnesota and has reopened the recruiting process.

“Taylr is no longer committed to Minnesota,” said Doug Bergman, a longtime high school volleyball coach who run the prestigious Mizuno M1 Volleyball Club in Bloomington, for which McNeil plays. “She and her family are actively making visits to other schools and she’s excited about the process.”

McNeil, who will be a junior this fall, gave a verbal commitment to former Gophers’ coach Mike Hebert following her freshman year at Lakeville North High School. McNeil transferred to Eagan last year when her family moved to the school district.

Her older sister, Kellie, played for the Gophers in 2011 but left the program last month.
