Top performer candidates

Jayden Larson, Tartan. The Titans won their second consecutive match in straight sets on Oct. 11, claiming a road victory at St. Paul Central. Larson produced her third highest set assist output of the season — and highest through a three-set match — recording 34 assists. The junior setter added six service aces, tied for a season best, to lead the Titans. Her 625 set assists on the season is seventh most in the state.

Lucy Larson, Northfield. Larson is just one piece of a solid Raiders roster, helping to lead the team to a 24-3 record this season. The Raiders posted wins in their two regular season matches last week, defeating Rochester Mayo and Faribault. On Oct. 11, Larson’s defensive skills helped hold off Rochester Mayo in five sets, totaling 28 digs. On Oct. 13, the junior libero and defensive specialist added 24 digs in the Raiders’ straight-set win at Faribault.

Corbyn Menz, Delano. The Tigers made quick work of their two matches last week, winning each in three sets. Against Monticello on Oct. 11, the Tigers allowed 17 or less points in each set, with Menz leading the attack with 18 kills and four service aces. The senior outside hitter only improved in the Tigers’ win against Holy Family Catholic two nights later, recording 22 kills and six services aces. She added 16 total digs between the two wins. Menz has 330 kills this season, sixth most in the state.
