We task our reporters with identifying several intriguing games throughout the state to assemble our Top Games of the Week. The matchups are presented in no particular order, and when there are additional games we want to highlight, we’ll include them with brief notes.

Wayzata vs. East Ridge, 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 13. It's No. 1 vs. No. 2 in Class 4A and arguably the one match to watch if you can only see one. The matchup replays the 2021 state championship final, and puts Wayzata's 60-match winning streak on the line.  

Southwest Christian vs. Mayer Lutheran, 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 13. Mayer Lutheran (3-0, 1-0 Minnesota River) is the top-ranked team in Class 1A but has lost its last three matches to non-conference rival Southwest Christian. But with the No. 4-2A Stars (1-3, 0-0 Wright County East) struggling a little bit early this season, it might be the Royals' turn.
