And the winner is...MN Volleyball Hub Top Performer revealed

See who fans voted as the top performer from Oct. 4-10.

Athletes are considered for the weekly top performer poll only if their stats are entered on the MN Volleyball Hub by 10 a.m. on Sundays. If coaches or members of their staffs need access to enter stats, please email mnhubs@sportngin.com.


Top performer of the week

Anya Schmidt, Rogers. Schmidt is someone for opponents to fear when she serves. She tallied eight service aces in a 3-0 win over Andover on Oct. 5. On Oct. 7, Schmidt added seven more in a 3-0 win over Totino-Grace. She stands at the top of the state in service aces with 146.

Top performer candidates

Julia Hanson, Prior Lake. The senior outside hitter almost drove her team to victory in a 2-3 loss to Northfield, ranked No. 9 in the Oct. 10 Class 4A coaches' poll, on Oct. 4. She had 37 kills and 17 digs in the game. She followed that performance with 17 kills in a 3-0 win over Farmington one day later. Hanson leads the state in kills with 386.

Makenna Hohbein, Holdingford. Hohbein’s performance in a 2-3 loss to Kimball Area on Oct. 7 is one of the bright sports for Holdingford this season. She had 41 digs against her team's Central Minnesota Conference rival. 

Olivia Mortenson, Kimball Area. Mortenson, the other standout performer in the Oct. 7 game against Holdingford, totaled 45 assists, 17 digs and five service aces in the win. 

McKenzie Schwichtenberg, Belle Plaine. She had 46 assists in a 3-2 win over No. 10-3A Mankato West on Oct. 4. Her performance was the fourth time she had over 40 assists in a game this season. 

Abby Fisel, Belle Plaine. Fisel joins her teammate with an impressive performance in the upset over Mankato West. Fisel dominated at the net and had six solo blocks. 

Mia Metzger, Park Christian. Metzger had a stellar week assisting her teammates. On Oct. 4, she had 32 assists in a 2-3 loss to Brandon-Evansville. Three days later, Metzger had 45 assists in a 2-3 loss to Norman County East.
