Kennedi Orr, a 6-foot junior setter who sometimes slides up the court to play right-side hitter for Eagan, has another piece of hardware she can place on her mantle this season: a Class 3A all-tournament team medal.

Adding to her accolades, Orr also made all-state this season and was chosen the Star Tribune's Metro Player of the Year, in addition to her receiving first team all-metro honors.

Orr, who is committed to Nebraska, is joined by fellow Wildcats Sienna Ifill and Abby Moe as all-tourney honorees, representing an Eagan team that went undefeated this season until falling to Wayzata in five sets to lose their third consecutive state championship match.

During the state tournament, Orr tallied team highs in kills (42) and set assists (79), with 12 of those kills and 25 set assists coming against the Trojans in the state championship. Ifill, meanwhile, buried 35 kills — 13 in the state championship — while Moe finished with 21, eight of which came in the finale.

The Wildcats have now been to seven consecutive Class 3A state tournaments, with their last state crown coming in 2016.

The Trojans also had three all-tournament recipients in Olivia Johnson, Sophie Jesewitz and Elizabeth Helmich.

Johnson, an all-metro second team selection, had a match-high 58 set assists against the Wildcats and 15 digs, while Jesewitz, an all-state honorable mention, tallied a match-high 25 kills and 15 digs, and Helmich, who received all-metro first team and all-state honors, had 13 kills and 17 digs.

North St. Paul, with Jenna Rubelke and Lauren Stenman, is the only other Class 3A school with multiple all-tourney recipients.

The all-tournament teams, presented by Wells Fargo and the Minnesota State High School League, were chosen by a panel of coaches who attended the tourney.
