Claire Vekich, Greenway. Vekich, a junior outside hitter, led the way for Greenway (22-4, 8-0) on offense and defense, helping her team earn a 3-1 defeat of Virgina on Oct. 15. She registered 23 kills, 14 digs, three blocks and had four service aces.
Madison Ellman, Chanhassen. Ellman played a big role defensively in the Storm's straight-sets victory over Hopkins on Oct. 15, when she went for 20 digs. She added four service aces in the match, helping Chanhassen (12-15, 2-4) end a two-match skid.
Gabby Jauhola, Proctor. In Proctor's (21-2, 5-1) match at Eveleth-Gilbert on Oct. 15, Jauhola put her playmaking abilities on display. The sophomore tallied 43 set assists, helping the Rails to a 3-0 triumph.
Imijyn Thompson, Floodwood. The senior stepped up to the challenge when Floodwood (17-6, 7-4) needed her in its 3-2 defeat of Barnum on Oct. 15. Thompson generated eight kills, 15 set assists, eight service aces, and 16 digs in a well-rounded performance.
Marlee Turn, Kittson County Central. Turn led Kittson County Central, ranked No. 5 in the Class 1A coaches' poll from Oct. 21, on offense, with 20- and 19-kill performances on back-to-back nights. Her peak discharge was on Oct. 14 when she recorded seven digs and four blocks to go with her 20 kills in the Bearcats' (26-2, 7-0) 3-0 win at Lake of the Woods.
