Fans' choice for Top Performer

Paige Thibault, Watertown-Mayer. Thibault's 20 kills, 12 digs, and three service aces was enough to push Watertown-Mayer, ranked No. 7 in the Class 2A coaches' poll from Oct. 14, past Rockford 3-1. The junior had another standout performance two days later, recording 18 kills, 19 digs, and two blocks in the Royals' (20-6, 7-0) 3-2 loss to Hutchinson.

Top performer candidates

Ellie Danielson, Minnewaska Area. In a 3-2 loss to Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta on Oct. 8, Danielson racked up 22 kills, three service aces and 27 digs. The senior middle hitter also swung for 16 kills two days later, helping the Lakers (9-8, 6-6) take down Benson in straight sets.

Paige Meyer, Albany. Meyer, a junior setter, provided 65 set assists in two matches last week, helping cement Albany's spot atop of the Granite Ridge Conference standings. She also finessed 27 service aces to guide the Huskies (20-6, 11-0) to a straight-sets victory over Foley on Oct. 8.

Riley Queensland, Grand Meadow. The Superlarks (20-9-1, 13-3-1) won in straight sets at home against Schaeffer Academy on Oct. 8 behind a two-way performance from Queensland. The senior outside hitter registered 15 kills and 11 digs in the victory.

Mia Scanlan, Cretin-Derham Hall. On the path to Cretin-Derham Hall's (12-11, 6-3) 3-0 triumph at Mounds View on Oct. 8, Scanlan reached 1,000 career digs, the first player in her program to attain the milestone. The senior posted 18 digs in the match.
