Top games: Surging Hutchinson can snag division title with defeat of rival Orono

We task our reporters with identifying several intriguing games throughout the state to assemble our Top Games of the Week. The matchups are presented in no particular order, and when there are additional games we want to highlight, we’ll include them with brief notes.






Other games to keep an eye on

Waterville-Elysian-Morristown vs. Bethlehem Academy, 7:15 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 15. Waterville-Elysian-Morristown (27-2, 7-0) can win its 28th match for a second consecutive season. Still, No. 1-1A Mayer Lutheran (19-2, 5-1) awaits the No. 2-1A Buccaneers in the Class 1A, Section 2 playoffs.

Bloomington Kennedy vs. Chaska, 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 14. Chaska (10-12, 5-0) will finish with a sub-.500 overall record, but a victory Monday over Bloomington Kennedy (3-16, 04) clinches the Metro West Conference title ahead of the likes of Bloomington Jefferson, St. Louis Park and Benilde-St. Margaret's.
