We task our reporters with identifying several intriguing games throughout the state to assemble our Top Games of the Week. The matchups are presented in no particular order, and when there are additional games we want to highlight, we’ll include them with brief notes.

Other games to keep an eye on

Minnetonka vs. St. Michael-Albertville, 7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 8. Neither No. 10-3A Minnetonka (17-4, 5-1) nor St. Michael-Albertville (16-5, 3-1) are too far behind Lake Conference-leading Wayzata, and the winner on Tuesday remains alive in the league title chase.

Concordia Academy vs. Mayer Lutheran, 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 14. The playoff mentality has already begun for No. 1-1A Mayer Lutheran (18-1, 5-0), which faces No. 5-2A Concordia Academy (16-3, 6-0) in an action-packed seven-day stretch that also includes matches against Class 2A state tournament contenders Southwest Christian and Belle Plaine.
