Top games: Lakeville North takes on Eagan in battle of giants

We task our reporters with identifying several intriguing games throughout the state to assemble our Top Games of the Week. The matchups are presented in no particular order, and when there are additional games we want to highlight, we’ll include them with brief notes.






Other games to keep an eye on

Woodbury vs. East Ridge, 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 3. Woodbury (12-0, 4-0) already has won more matches than it did all of last season and shares the Suburban East Conference standings lead with No. 4-3A East Ridge (14-3, 4-0).

Lakeville South vs. Shakopee, 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 3. No. 7-3A Lakeville South (10-8, 3-2), which has battled injuries in defense of its Class 3A, Section 1 title from a year ago, takes on another tough foe in the South Suburban Conference race: No. 6-3A Shakopee (13-4, 4-2).

Concordia Academy vs. Waterville-Elysian-Morristown, 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 7. Two of the best in their respective classes go toe-to-toe when No. 2-1A Waterville-Elysian-Morriston (18-2, 5-0) faces No. 5-2A Concordia Academy (14-3, 5-0).
