And the winner is...MN Volleyball Hub Top Performer revealed Sept. 3-7

See which athlete fans voted as having the best performance from Sept. 3-7

Athletes are considered for the weekly top performer poll only if their stats are entered on the MN Volleyball Hub by 10 a.m. on Sundays. If coaches or members of their staffs need access to enter stats, please email mnhubs@sportngin.com.


Fans' choice for top performer

Maddy Hornyak, Lakeville North. In a busy six-game week for Lakeville North (8-1, 0-0), the 5-foot-10 Hornyak helped close the No. 4-3A Panthers' 3-1 win against No. 9-3A Champlin Park on Sept. 4, with a game-high 24 kills and she also had 19 digs.

Top performer candidates

CJ Thompson, Floodwood. The senior had 16 kills in a 3-1 victory over Hill City on Sept. 3, with an additional 16 two days later in the Polar Bears' (3-1, 1-1) five-set loss to Cromwell-Wright. She also had 18 digs last week.

Sarah Lenz, Belle Plaine. With over 90 assists, seven kills and 32 digs for Belle Plaine (2-2, 2-0) last week, Lenz's top performance came in a straight-set sweep of Norwood-Young America on Sept. 5 when she had 40 assists. She leads the Tigers, ranked No. 7 in the Class 2A coaches' poll from Sept. 8, in assists with 149 entering the week. 

Caitlyn Gutzman, Crosby-Ironton. The senior leads Crosby-Ironton (6-1, 0-0) in digs with 93. Fifty of which came in the Rangers' 3-2 loss to Hill City on Sept. 5.

Chayse Paulson, Rochester John Marshall. The junior outside hitter gave her all for the Rockets (5-2, 0-1) in a five-set loss on Sept. 5 to Fairbault, where she had 49 assists.
