St. Cloud Cathedral vs. Albany

7:15 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 18

Albany can't win the Granite Ridge Conference championship. But the Huskies (16-9, 7-2), ranked eighth in Class 2A, can beat St. Cloud Cathedral for the third time this season and start to feel just a little vengeance for their loss to the Crusaders in the 2021 Class 2A, Section 6 quarterfinals.

St. Cloud Cathedral (16-8, 9-0) is on track to win this year's conference title. Its 2022 success might have been foreshadowed by its section tournament victory over Albany last fall. The Crusaders entered the tournament with a 9-13 record.

Many of the Huskies players experienced last year's disappointment. Hannah Klein, Samantha VanHeel, Andrea Majchrzak, Kendall Buerman and Allie Thelen all played in that game and have been Albany's leaders this season. That group has beaten St. Cloud Cathedral twice this season already in best-of-three tournament settings.

Olivia Prom, Kayla Sexton, Ellie Klinefelter and Cammy Sand have powered the Crusaders' resurgence this fall.
