Benilde-St. Margaret's started the season with high hopes and then lost six of its first eight matches.
But the competition was tough — losses came against No. 1-2A Southwest Christian, No. 5-3A New Prague, No. 1-3A Marshall, No. 9-4A Northfield, a Bloomington Jefferson team that was ranked in the top three in Class 4A and Maple Grove. And the Red Knights (9-9, 2-3) have been finding more success of late, having won seven of their last nine matches.
Lily Eigner (128 kills, 56 digs, 11 blocks), Anna Lervick (181 assists, 59 digs), Ellery Clark (178 assists, 52 digs) and Erica Lee (23 blocks) lead the Knights.
Holy Angels will provide a solid measuring stick for Benilde-St. Margaret's. The No. 7-3A Stars (13-1, 8-0) have one loss and it was to Southwest Christian. The match at Benilde-St. Margaret's will be the sixth in a string of seven consecutive on the road for the Stars.
