When Annandale plays at Maple Lake on Oct. 4, each team will be looking for a little more of the same thing: consistency.
Annandale — which is led by junior outside Kali Jones — got off to a strong start, but the No. 6-2A Cardinals (11-3, 2-1) have struggled of late, losing three of its last six matches.
Maple Lake went through a three-match losing streak early in the year before winning four in a row. Senior Ella Kiebel, a 5-foot-8 setter and a 2020 All-State pick, leads the No. 7-2A Irish (9-4, 3-0). Junior outside Kali Jones leads Annandale.
These teams might not be seeing the last of each other. They are contenders in a strong Section 2 that also includes No. 2-2A Watertown-Mayer.
