Rochester Mayo vs. Northfield

7:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 5

Northfield’s Megan Reilly has 78 kills this season, helping the Raiders sit atop the Big 9 Conference standings with an unbeaten record. An Arizona State commit, Reilly is just one of four Northfield players who have committed to Division I programs. Sylvia Koenig (Miami University), Emma Torstenson (Colorado) and Rachel Wieber (Southern Utah) are the others.

All that firepower helps explain how the No. 9-3A Raiders, who have never reached the state tournament, haven't lost a set while dominating all their Big 9 opponents this fall.

Rochester Mayo (6-0, 6-0) can’t match Northfield (7-0, 7-0) player-for-player in terms of Division I talent, but the Spartans do have a big-time recruit — albeit in basketball. Senior Anna Miller, committed to play basketball at Drake — continued her stellar volleyball season with 12 kills and two blocks in a 3-0 sweep of arch-rival Rochester Century last Thursday.
