St. Paul Central vs.

St. Paul Highland Park

7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 6

St. Paul Central opened its season Oct. 9, losing in straight sets to St. Paul Highland Park. The Minutemen have been unbeaten since, losing just one set while routing the rest of their St. Paul City Conference foes.

How much have the Minutemen (5-1, 5-1) improved since their season-opening blemish? We’re about to find out, as the teams begin their second run through conference opponents this week, and the Minutemen get another look at the Scots on Friday.

Central junior Cecelia Rowell was an all-conference selection last season, and teammates Violet Hackbarth and Jada Young, both sophomores, were honorable mention picks.

Highland Park (6-0, 6-0) features three third-year varsity players who were all-conference picks last season in left-side hitter Kiyomi Callahan, setter Annika Mechelke and outside hitter Dejy Martens.
