Minneota vs. Canby

7:15 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 8

Minneota has been the best in the Camden Conference South Division and in Class 1A, Section 3 for the past eight years — and the No. 3-1A Vikings are playing for a ninth consecutive state tournament berth.

And while Minneota (21-2, 11-0) — powered by Natalee Rolbiecki, McKenna Yost, Abby Hennen and Morgan Hennen — appears headed for another conference title, Canby (14-3, 9-1) isn't far behind.

Although Canby's 3-0 loss to Lakeview last week kept this match from being a deciding factor in the league championship, the No. 10-1A Cougars are growing more confident in their ability to stake their own section claim.

“It would be nice to beat Minneota on our home court, but that’s not our overall goal for the season,” Canby coach Jenai Wright said.

Seniors Brooke Nelson (outside hitter), Charlotte Wright (middle hitter) and Cassidy Hunt (libero) have sparked the Cougars’ strong season.
