In a potential preview of the Class 1A, Section 3 championship, Windom travels to Minneota for a regular-season showdown.
Windom has a versatile leader in Becca Hacker. She recently reached 1,000 career assists and she's a big reason why the No. 9-1A Eagles (13-5-2, 4-2) are the top seed in the Class 1A, Section 3 South Division bracket.
Minneota is top seed in the section's North Division and boasts players such as Lizzy Gillingham, Abby Hennen and Lydia Sussner, giving the Vikings (26-1, 11-0) a formidable lineup.
Windom has to overcome Adrian and Tracy-Milroy-Balaton to reach the section final, while Minneota could be challenged by Wabasso and Yellow Medicine East. But if the bracket plays out, the Eagles and Vikings could meet again for a trip to the state tourney.
Minneota won 3-1 in last year’s regular-season matchup.
