Watertown-Mayer vs. Hutchinson

7 p.m, Thursday, Oct. 11

The regular-season finale for Hutchinson, which is fighting for a home playoff game, should be a good gauge for both it and No. 10-2A Watertown-Mayer.

Hutchinson (15-9, 3-1) looks to put another feather in its signature win cap to go with a 3-2 victory over No. 4-1A Mayer Lutheran on Sept. 25. Emma Olberg, who had 16 kills against Mayer Lutheran and 21 in a win over Sartell-St. Stephen on Aug. 31, should help lead the way.

But the Tigers will have to stop an overwhelming Royals offense.

Watertown-Mayer has two of the state’s most productive hitters in Janessa Berrios (299 kills) and Paige Thibault (270 kills). They're fed by Nikki McDonald, the state's second-leading setter with 683 assists. McDonald and Berrios each have 30-plus service aces.
