Kasson-Mantorville vs. Kenyon-Wanamingo

7:15 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 25

Two of Class 2A's top programs and Hiawatha Valley League contenders trying to keep pace with Stewartville go toe-to-toe Thursday, when No. 6-2A Kenyon-Wanamingo hosts No. 2-2A Kasson-Mantorville.

Although Kasson-Mantorville (16-2, 4-0) hasn’t won a regular-season match against Kenyon-Wanamingo (11-4, 3-1) since 2014, the schools have split their last two meetings in the state tournament — the KoMets won 3-0 last fall.

The Knights, hoping to keep the regular-season streak alive, sit in the middle of the conference and need every win possible to climb the Hiawatha Valley tower. They'll look to capitalize on Ally Peterson and her team-best 186 kills, while Julianna Boyum (second with 76 kills) brings an additional threat. Peterson also leads with 133 digs while Kasandra Keller has 95. Madi Luebke has 177 assists.

The KoMets, fresh off winning the Class 2A Showcase last weekend in Burnsville, have one of the state’s most dangerous hitters in Peyton Seuss. Maddie Converse has stepped in at setter, while Bailey Berge leads in digs.
