Lakeville South vs. Eagan

7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 25

After losing to Eagan 2-1 at the Eagle Invitational in Apple Valley last Saturday, Lakeville South looks for revenge against the team atop the South Suburban Conference standings.

Lakeville South (12-2, 3-1) enters the week trailing Eagan and Eastview in a stacked league where six of 10 teams boast overall winning records.

The Cougars played spoilers last year with a 3-2 home victory, handing the Wildcats their lone conference loss.

To replicate that outcome this year, No. 3-3A Lakeville South will need big performances from its top players, including senior hitters Jasmine Mulvihill and Carlee Gonzalez.

No. 1-3A Eagan begins the week still perfect in conference play, and its only loss this season was a 2-1 defeat to No. 6-3A Minnetonka at the Shakopee Invitational on Sept. 8. The Wildcats  (14-1, 5-0) feature a talented roster with sophomore setter Kennedi Orr and senior middle Ellie Husemann
