Sauk Centre vs. Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta

6 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 18

In a rematch of an Aug. 24 season opener, Sauk Centre (11-1, 4-1) should prove a solid test for Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta (6-4, 3-2).

Mainstreeters Nicole Kortan and Reece Ritter earned all-conference honors a year ago. Now seniors for No. 8-2A Sauk Centre, the duo can help lead a team that finished 1.5 games behind Morris Area last season.

After falling 2-0 to Sauk Centre in the Albany Invitational, Morris Area won five straight. Then, the reigning West Central champs went 1-3 in their past four matches and are looking to get back on track.

Tigers libero Riley Decker was the conference’s most valuable defender last year, and recorded 15 digs and eight assists in a 3-0 loss to Benson on Sept. 4. Outside hitter Bailey Marty provides passing and defense, including 11 kills in a 3-0 victory over New London-Spicer on Aug. 28 and 18 digs in a sweep of Montevideo on Aug. 30
