Southwestern Minnesota is home to some quality volleyball, and two of the region's best square off in a Big South Conference showdown when No. 4-2A Marshall tussles with Windom Area.
The two teams are fighting with Jackson County Central for control of the Big South West. Marshall and Windom split the last two meetings.
Marshall (7-2, 1-0) senior hitter Erica Jones was all-state last year and juniors Paige Andries and Mia Schnaible were all-Big South.
Tuesday marks the toughest test to date for Windom (6-1, 2-0) since dropping a Sept. 8 match 2-0 to No.4-1A Mayer Lutheran. Becca Hacker and Maurissa Isaacs are both well-rounded players, while Katelyn Nichols, a 6-foot junior, contributed 10 kills in a Sept. 4 sweep of Red Rock Central.
