Kasson-Mantorville vs. Cannon Falls

7:15 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 13

The Hiawatha Valley League has three clear contenders, but Cannon Falls could become part of the conversation with a win against Kasson-Mantorville.

Cannon Falls (4-4, 0-1) opened the season with a 3-1 win over No. 7-1A Pine River-Backus but got swept 3-0 by No. 7-2A Kenyon-Wanamingo on Sept. 6. With a program looking to stir the conference pot, the Bombers could turn heads by taking down a ranked conference opponent.

Senior Molly Bowen and Sara Twedt, a junior, are big attacking threats for the Bombers with six and seven kills, respectively, in a 3-1 win over Rochester John Marshall on Aug. 30.

No. 3-2A Kasson-Mantorville (6-2, 1-0) returns Division I talent from a team seeking a third-straight section title. Senior outside hitter Peyton Seuss, a Wake Forest commit, was all-state last year. She had 17 kills in a 3-0 sweep of Eastview last Tuesday.
