Returning experience should make for a good nonconference matchup between Wadena-Deer Creek and Nevis.
Wadena-Deer Creek (3-1) returns enough from last year’s state tournament team to be a contender again in Class 1A, Section 6. Setter Ashley Adams runs the show, while middles Kennedy Gravelle and Kyla Ness can handle everything up front.
Nevis has experience, too, bringing back plenty of veterans from a squad that won 19 matches and made it to last year's Class 1A, Section 5 semifinals. Setter Andrea Dudley was all-conference last year and has a front line that includes standouts Ashley Pyburn and Kia Heide.
