A pair of teams ranked in the Class 2A coaches' poll and the No. 1 seed in the 2016 Class 2A state tournament highlight the top teams in Class 2A, Section 2.
On the north side, Norwood-Young America (23-1) takes the reins as the No. 1 seed. The No. 8-2A Raiders come into section play winning 12 of their past 13 matches.
Jordan (19-8) comes in as the No. 2 seed and was swept by Norwood-Young America in their only matchup of the regular season.
Southwest Christian (18-6) is likely to pose a threat. The No. 7-2A Stars are currently on a five-match winning streak but have yet to play the Raiders or Jordan.
Glencoe-Silver Lake (16-7) comes in as the No. 4 seed after splitting the Wright County West championship.
Kenyon-Wanamingo (18-4) is the No. 1 seed in the south and comes into the postseason winning eight consecutive matches. The Knights are the defending section champions and finished third in the 2016 Class 2A state tournament.
St. Peter (16-8) is the No. 2 seed after winning the Big South East, while Blue Earth Area (9-9) is the No. 3 seed despite losing four of its past five matches. Tri-City United (5-17) is the No. 4 seed.
