With three teams ranked in the Class 3A coaches' poll, Class 3A, Section 2 is set to be one of the state's toughest once again this season.
Prior Lake (18-10) will enter as the No. 1 seed. The No. 7 Lakers head into the postseason winning eight of their past nine matches, including a win over third-seeded Shakopee (16-6).
Prior Lake is the defending section champion and took fifth in the 2016 Class 3A state tournament. The Lakers also made the tournament in 2015, where they were the state runner's up.
Eden Prairie (19-6) comes in as a formidable No. 2 seed. The No. 10 Eagles took home the Lake Conference championship this season with a 7-2 record inside the conference.
Minnetonka (15-8) enters the postseason as the No. 4 seed in the section. The Skippers drudge into section play after losing their final five matches of the regular season.
