Minnetonka at Eden Prairie
7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 17

With a home victory to close out the regular season, Eden Prairie (19-5, 6-1) could claim the Lake Conference title outright, finishing at 7-1 -- one match ahead of No. 5-3A Hopkins, which has completed its league slate at 6-2. Minnetonka (18-8, 4-3) enters the final week on a slide after losing its last three conference matches.

Just a week ago, Eden Prairie swept Minnetonka, continuing the Skippers’ skid after they started 4-0 in conference play. Junior setter Dresden Pass and senior middle Katelyn Lannom are key players for Minnetonka to turn around that slide before the Class 3A, Section 2 playoffs begin.

Minnetonka won three of five matches to finish 10th at the STMA Midwest Classic last weekend, while Eden Prairie took four of five at the Todd L. Bachman Invitational at Lakeville North, losing only to the host Panthers in pool play.

The Eagles rebounded from that loss to win both matches in the Silver Bracket, defeating No. 10-3A Moorhead and East Ridge in straight sets to finished fifth overall. Senior outside hitter Grace Persson, who has committed to Michigan, is a powerful attacker and has been joined by junior Makenna Berger as go-to hitters.
