Hopkins vs. Minnetonka
7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 5

Hopkins, ranked eighth in Class 3A, may be ahead of No. 9-3A Minnetonka in the coaches' poll, but the Royals are looking up at the Skippers in the Lake Conference standings as October begins.

The Royals are 4-1 in the league, losing head-to-head to the Skippers 3-1 on Sept. 19. Minnetonka (14-3, 4-0) had just one match last week, defeating Edina in a Lake Conference meeting on Tuesday to remain unbeaten in the league at 4-0.

In the earlier meeting, Minnetonka setter Dresden Pass had 23 set assists, spreading the ball around effectively within the Skippers' offense. Five different players had at least five kills, making defending them difficult. Hopkins (13-5, 4-1) was paced by junior Anna Erickson (24 kills) and senior Tara Lee (35 set assists).
