Cedar Mountain-Comfrey vs. Wabasso
7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 7

Three teams tied atop the Tomahawk Conference with 7-1 records last year, and two of them collide Thursday night when Cedar Mountain-Comfrey (2-0) visits Wabasso (2-0).

The Cougars are rolling early, losing just one set total in victories over Nicollet (3-0) and Madelia (3-1) last week. Senior setter Abby Jemmings controls the offense for the Cougars, whose tallest player is 5-foot-10 right-side hitter Mackenzie Kerkhoff.

Wabasso also has started hot, with 3-1 victories over both Yellow Medicine East and Red Rock Central. As expected, the junior connection of Jenna Frank to Maddy Guetter has been powering the Rabbits. In the season-opening victory at Yellow Medicine East, Frank racked up 29 set assists and Guetter had 17 kills.
