Hayfield at Kasson-Mantorville
7:15 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 8

Back-to-back straight-set wins over Medford and Austin have propelled Hayfield to the No. 11 spot in the Class 1A coaches’ poll. Hiawatha Valley all-conference sophomore setter Maggie Streightiff had 15 kills for the Vikings in their season opener, a five-set loss to No. 13-1A Fillmore Central.

Kasson-Mantorville is coming off a tough five-set loss to Hutchinson in which it dropped the last three sets. The No. 3-2A KoMets are freshman middle hitter Peyton Suess and senior setter Lilly Braun, who are Hiawatha Valley all-conference selections, and should take comfort in the fact that they’ve defeated Hayfield in their last four meetings.
