Oct. 17: The Skippers look to right the ship on Tuesday after losing three straight Lake Conference matchups.

Two weeks ago, Minnetonka was high atop the Lake Conference standings with an undefeated record. That’s saying something, as the Skippers were expected to be in a reloading year after graduating a strong senior class that included five-year setter Isabelle Aragon-Menzel. Instead, coach Karl Katzenberger’s crew came out of the gates sailing smoothly.

The waters have gotten rougher as the playoffs have approached, however.

The Skippers have lost their last three conference matches and went 3-2 in earning 10th place in the huge St. Michael-Albertville Midwest Classic last weekend. With the Class 3A, Section 2 playoffs around the corner, it’s key for the Skippers to right the ship.

Lake Conference — and Section 2 — foe Eden Prairie stands in the way, and the Eagles have plenty to play for as well. With both conference and section seeding implications on the line, we like their Tuesday night clash as our pick for the Top Game of the Week.
