South Suburban Conference continues control of state rankings

Class 3A

Eagan (18-1) cemented its spot at the top of the Class 3A coaches poll rankings in its lone match this past week. The Wildcats cruised past No. 2 Lakeville North (17-2) with a three-set win. 

The Panthers' crosstown rival, Lakeville South (16-3), jumps up to No. 3 after sitting at the No. 4 spot. Champlin Park (18-3) drops from the third spot to No. 6 after losses to No. 4 Stillwater (16-5) and No. 5 Hopkins (15-6). The Royals won five matches this past week.

East Ridge (12-7) comes back into the top 10 after receiving votes a week ago. The No. 9 Raptors went 5-2 this past week and will have a chance to prove themselves again this weekend at the Lakeville North Tournament.

 

Class 2A

Class 2A's top-ranked team, Maple Lake (26-0), had another strong week, as it picked up wins against two teams ranked in the Class 3A coaches poll.

Rocori (20-4) jumps from seventh to No. 5 after going 6-0 this past week, and Norwood Young America (20-1) is the lone newcomer in this week's poll.

 

Class 1A

Mayer Lutheran (23-1) is once again the No. 1 team in Class 1A after receiving 10 of the 11 first-place votes. No. 2 Tracy-Milroy-Balaton (19-4) picked up a vote in this week's poll after two wins this past week.

Minneota (19-5) jumps into the top three. The Vikings' schedule this week features Yellow Medicine East, Lakeview and they will play in the Apple Valley Tournament this weekend.
