Player of the Week winner

Skylar Gray, Maple Grove The freshman outside hitter emerged as a leader for Maple Grove in the Crimson’s last two victories. In last week's two victories, she hammered home 30 kills and made 12 digs and two blocks.

Player of the Week candidates

Haley Hadrava, North Branch Hadrava, a sophomore, contributed 48 assists and 13 digs when the Vikings defeated Andover (18-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-20) on Oct. 2. She has 412 assists this season.

Mya Bredemus, Legacy Christian The freshman impressed with 50 digs in the Lion’s victory over Spectrum (19-25, 25-23, 25-8, 23-25, 15-11) on Oct. 2. She’s racked up 312 digs this season.

Julia Welch, Minneapolis Washburn The 5-foot-8 senior has been a consistent defensive force for the Millers, as she has 524 sets on the season. Welch had 32 assists and eight digs in a four-set loss (21-25, 25-21, 25-23, 25-12) to Benilde-St. Margaret’s on Oct. 3.

Maddy Guetter, Wabasso The 5-foot-11 junior slammed 21 kills and pitched in 18 digs Oct. 5 in Wabasso’s sweep of New Ulm Cathedral on Oct. 5. She has 60 kills this season.
