Player of the Week winner

Emma Schmidt, Champlin ParkThe 6-1 junior proved consistent on the court with 19 kills, six assists, one ace and eight digs in a 25-11, 25-20, 25-12 takedown over Chaska on Sept. 21. She also pitched in 13 kills in Champlin Park's 25-20, 25-19, 25-20 victory over Elk River Sept. 19.

Player of the Week candidates

Maizy Jackson, Benilde-St. Margaret’sThe 6-foot junior recorded 23 kills, two aces, 16 digs and three solo blocks in the Red Knights’ 3-2  loss to Waconia on Sept. 18. The total score after all five sets was 112-112, with set scores 27-25, 22-25, 25-23, 22-25, 16-14.

Nikki McDonald, Watertown-MayerMcDonald, a junior, was all over the court against Holy Family Catholic on Sept. 18, contributing 42 assists and two aces to help the Royals win 25-16, 23-25, 25-22, 25-20.

Kari Zumach, BuffaloA 6-3 senior who had 24 kills, two aces, three assists and 21 digs in Buffalo’s 25-15, 23-25, 25-23, 25-13 victory over Monticello on Sept. 8. She’s banked 212 kills on the season.

Halle Bemmels, LeSueur-HendersonBemmels, a 5-8 freshman, impressed on Sept. 21 with 17 digs, 46 assists and two kills in a 20-25, 18-25, 25-23, 26-24, 15-9 loss to Sibley East.
