Panthers hold off Irish to move to 12-0.

ROSEMOUNT, Minn. -- Lakeville North had to overcome a late three-point deficit and a set point but battled back to complete a three-set sweep, 25-19, 25-15, 26-24, over Rosemount.

The top-ranked Panthers and the Irish battled back and forth throughout the middle of the set, with nine tie scores from 10-10 to 19-19, before closing out the opening frame with a 6-0 run which featured three kills and a set assist by Elizabeth Juhnke.

After trailing 7-3 early in the second set, North again responded with a six-point run and never looked back in taking a 10-point win in the middle frame.

Tori Thompson have five kills in six attacks and also recorded two block assists, and Macy Winter had four kills to pace the Panthers in the set.

Much of the final set belonged to the hosts, who took their largest lead of the set at 23-20 before a pair of Kennedy Brady kills spurred the Panthers to tie the score at 23-23.

The Irish quickly regained the lead and held their only set point of the night before Juhnke recorded a kill to tie the score and return serve to the visitors.

Another kill by Juhnke gave North a match point and she then recorded a solo block for the final point of the night.

In all, Juhnke recorded 14 kills, two blocks and six digs while adding an ace and an assist.

From the back row, Halle Wolfe had four digs and chipped in with four assists while receiving 21 serves without an error.

Winter's 10 digs led the Panthers while both she and Thompson finished with seven kills. Thompson also had a match-high three blocks.

North returns to action Friday and Saturday as it takes part in the Eagle Invitational at Apple Valley. Pairings have not yet been announced.
